Currently 71 years old, married, and a retired public school (elementary and high school) choral music teacher. I enjoyed acting, singing solos and being a voice coach for many years to many students.
My father took lots of photos, mostly during special events but especially during our summer vacations. It was just a hobby for dad. He loved sharing "slide shows" with friends and relatives. I remember feeling proud of a lot of his photos. He appreciated nature's beauty and I think it rubbed off on me.
I've taken photos (owned a camera) since I was a young adult, married with kids. After 2000, with the advent of digital photography, I grew to appreciate all the convenience it offered and now the photo software available enhances that experience. I enjoy processing (developing as we used to say) the photos myself on my computer (I use Lightroom Classic and Topaz DeNoise). I find the creative leeway digital processing to be exciting and the time sitting at my computer working on photos passes quickly.
The visual arts have always attracted me. I grew up enjoying drawing and art. Had I not majored in music education I might have gone into art for a profession. As my interest (and skill level) in singing increased my drawing and art skills suffered from a lack of attention. I did go through a year of painting the Bob Ross style in my forties but was mostly busy teaching, singing at funerals and weddings and doing community theatre.
